PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: March 2026
Most privacy policies read like they were written by a lawyer for other lawyers. This one isn’t. I wrote it myself, in plain language, because I think you deserve to actually understand what’s happening with your data when you use this site.
The short version: this site doesn’t collect much. There’s no account system. No email required. No quiz answers stored on a server after you get your result. The main things to know are what Google Analytics and Google AdSense do — and I explain both below.
If you read this and still have questions, email me: coloranalysisquiz@gmail.com. I read every message.
What This Site Doesn’t Do — Starting Here on Purpose
I want to lead with this because it’s what most people actually want to know.
This site doesn’t ask for your email address. Ever. You can take the quiz, get your full result, and leave without giving me any contact information. There’s no signup. No account. No newsletter you accidentally subscribe to.
This site doesn’t store your quiz answers. When you answer the eight questions and get your color season result, those answers are processed to generate your result and then they’re gone. There’s no database somewhere with your vein color and sun reaction stored next to your IP address.
This site doesn’t have a contact form that saves submissions to a database. If you want to reach me, you email directly. That email lives in my inbox, not in a WordPress database.
This site doesn’t sell data. There’s nothing to sell — I don’t have email lists, user profiles, or personal information attached to identifiable people.
What Does Get Collected When You Visit
When you load any page on this site, the web server automatically logs some basic technical information. Your IP address, which page you requested, what browser you’re using, what device you’re on, and the time of the request. This is standard for every website on the internet — it’s how servers work. These logs are used to diagnose technical problems and detect abuse. They’re not used to track individual visitors.
Beyond server logs, this site uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics tells me things like: how many people visited the quiz page this week, what countries they came from, whether they were on phones or computers, and how long they stayed on the page. It does this using cookies — small files stored in your browser.
Google Analytics doesn’t tell me who you are. It tells me aggregate patterns. ‘400 people took the quiz on Tuesday, 65% of them on mobile’ — that’s the kind of information it provides. Not ‘Sarah from Denver took the quiz at 3pm.’
If you’d rather Google Analytics not track your visits across sites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. It works on any browser.
Ads on This Site — How They Work
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. That’s how a free site with no subscription or paid tier stays running — the ads cover hosting and other costs.
Here’s what that means for you practically: Google uses cookies to show you ads that are relevant to your interests. This is called interest-based advertising. Google builds a profile of what you’re interested in based on your browsing history across websites — not just this one — and uses that to decide which ads to show you.
I don’t choose which specific ads appear. I don’t see your browsing history. I just have a Google AdSense account and Google handles the rest. The ads you see here are selected and served by Google’s systems, not by me personally.
If you’d prefer Google not use your browsing history to target ads, you can adjust that at adssettings.google.com. You can also install an ad blocker if you’d rather not see ads at all — I’d rather you use the site comfortably than not use it.

Cookies — What They Are and What This Site Uses
A cookie is a small text file a website saves to your browser. They’re not malicious software. They just help websites remember things between page loads.
This site uses three types:
- Session cookies — temporary cookies that keep your quiz session active while you’re taking the quiz. These disappear when you close your browser. Without them, the quiz can’t remember your answers as you move between questions.
- Google Analytics cookies — used to collect the anonymous usage statistics described above. These persist between visits so Google Analytics can tell whether you’re a new or returning visitor.
- Google AdSense cookies — used by Google to serve relevant ads based on your interests. These are set by Google, not directly by this site.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. In Chrome it’s under Settings > Privacy and security. In Firefox it’s under Settings > Privacy & Security. In Safari it’s under Preferences > Privacy. Blocking all cookies will break the quiz session, but blocking third-party cookies specifically will stop Google Analytics and AdSense from tracking you without affecting the quiz itself.
Third-Party Services Running on This Site
A few external services are active on this site. Each handles your data according to their own privacy policies, which I don’t control:
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdSense — ad serving. Advertising policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Google Fonts — the fonts used on this site are loaded from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. Font privacy details: developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy
- WordPress — this site runs on WordPress. WordPress itself doesn’t collect visitor data. No plugins that harvest or store visitor information are active on this site.
That’s the complete list. No social media tracking pixels, no affiliate link trackers, no additional analytics tools beyond what’s listed above.
A Note About Children
This site isn’t designed for children and doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The quiz is a color and fashion tool with no age gate, but it’s not targeted at kids and there’s nothing here designed to appeal specifically to them.
If you’re a parent and you think your child has somehow submitted personal information through this site — which would be unusual given how little this site collects — email me at coloranalysisquiz@gmail.com and I’ll sort it out.
Your Rights Depending on Where You Live
Privacy laws vary by country and state. Here’s how they apply to this site:
If you’re in California, CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information this site has about you, to request it be deleted, and to opt out of its sale. This site doesn’t sell personal information. If you want to know what server logs might have captured about your visit, or you want to request deletion of any email correspondence, email me at coloranalysisquiz@gmail.com.
If you’re in the European Union or UK, GDPR gives you rights to access, correct, and delete your personal data. The legal basis for this site’s data processing is legitimate interest for server logs and consent for Google Analytics cookies. Quiz answers aren’t stored, so there’s nothing to access or delete there. For anything else, email me.
For everyone else: even if your country doesn’t have specific privacy legislation, I think the baseline should be that you know what’s happening with your data and have a way to contact someone about it. That’s what this page is for.
How Long Data Is Kept
Server logs: deleted automatically by the hosting provider on a rolling basis — typically between 30 and 90 days.
Google Analytics: set to the shortest retention period available in the property settings.
Quiz answers: not retained at all. Processed to generate your result, then discarded.
Emails: kept in my inbox for as long as needed to respond and resolve whatever the conversation was about. Not used for anything else.
Security
This site uses HTTPS. Data between your browser and this server is encrypted in transit. The site is hosted on a reputable provider with standard security configurations.
I’ll be straight: no website can guarantee absolute security. But this site doesn’t store passwords, payment details, health information, or anything that would make it an attractive target. The security risk to visitors here is genuinely low.
If This Policy Changes
The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If something material changes — like adding a new third-party service, or changing how quiz data is handled — I’ll update this page and change that date.
Small edits like fixing a broken link or clarifying a sentence happen without any announcement. Anything that actually affects your data gets a clear update.
